| Custom Orthotics The Ultimate in Support and Comfort
Most people take over 8,000 steps every day. This translates into more than 100,000 miles in the average lifetime. No wonder the majority of us will develop foot ailments at some point along the way! For many of these ailments, the optimal solution is custom orthotics.
What are Custom Orthotics?
Custom orthotics are insoles for your shoes that are molded specifically to your feet. They replace the standard insoles that come with most shoes. Because custom orthotics fit the contours of your feet perfectly, they maximize support, balance and control.
And that translates into healthier feet and ultimate comfort whether you are standing, walking or racing a triathlon!
The Process
1) If you choose custom orthotics, the first step is a stop at The Good Sole where our pedorthist will take a foam impression of your feet.
2) From that impression, we make a plaster cast that exactly duplicates the shape and contours of your feet.
3) From the cast, we build your custom orthotics. The exact process and materials used will vary based on your feet and your activities.
4) About 15 days after your visit, we will schedule a second appointment to fit your new orthotics and make sure they function properly.
